Nicht bei jedem Patienten mit Symptomen einer akuten intrakraniellen Pathologie findet sich ein entsprechendes CT-Korrelat, sondern vielmehr ein chronischer zerebraler Prozess – und umgekehrt. Daher ist die umfassende Erkennung aller intrakranieller Pathologien eine der Hauptaufgaben von Neurologen und Radiologen, sei es in der Akutmedizin, sei es in der Routinediagnostik.
